High Pressure Bullet Line Stopping
What is High Pressure Bullet Line Stopping?
Bullet line stopping employs a hard teflon "bullet" which is inserted through a hot top made on the pipe. The bullet is compressed into the pipe (which is supported by a sleeve) - and conforms to the interior of the pipe, providing a tight seal to stop the water flow .
When to Use a High Pressure Bullet Line Stop
High Pressure line stops are appropriate for industrial applications and municipalities with high pressure or water flow rate through the main applications (>120PSI, >3 ft/sec of flow, 16" and smaller pipe diameter).
High pressure bullet line stops can be performed on the primary water main types used for water distribution:
- Cast iron
- Ductile iron
- Asbestos cement (AC, or transite)
